Children's Work
Training Workshops...
Parish-based workshops offered to those working with children in the Worcester Diocese.
Who are the workshops for?
Anyone who feels that children have a place within the church. This will not just involve leaders of children's work but also members of PCCs, DCCs, clergy and members of the congregation who are interested in looking at how the church meets the needs of children.
Do I have to do all the workshops?
Absolutely not! Each one will stand completely on its own. You may choose to do just one in an evening, or to combine two or more into a morning / full day session.
Where will they take place?
More or less anywhere. In your church hall / vestry / church / vicar's front room... In fact wherever you usually like to have your church meetings. (Except for Open the Book training which usually takes place at The Old Palace.)
How long are the workshops?
Each one lasts around 1½ hours.
So what do I do next..?
Decide which workshop(s) you are interested in (see below for details).
Bearing in mind any minimum number requirements, ask around your parish (or link with a neighbouring one) and get together other interested people.
Between yourselves, agree on a venue and be prepared to offer a few suitable times.

A WORKSHOP Relating to Children Within the Community 
Be a Storyteller in your local primary school using "Open the Book"
Like to get involved in your local school but don't know where to start?
Daunted by the prospect of finding suitable materials?
Then you need to know about OPEN THE BOOK!
The Open the Book project enables you to present a range of up
to 90 Bible stories in your local school, using a variety of storytelling techniques,
over a period of three school years.
Currently, there are 60 schools within the Diocese who have Open the Book teams. If you wish to find out if a team is operating in your area and/or put your name down for our next Open The Book training event,

A Series of WORKSHOPS Relating to Children Within the Church
1. Training Workshops and Courses are taking place in various churches in the diocese from September 2011 to July 2012. These will cover topics such as Messy Church, Godly Play, Storytelling, Craft Ideas, Easter and Christmas Resources, Children's Worship Resources and Using Puppets, especially in children's clubs.
