Peru Task Group
The Peru Task Group aims to foster the link throughout the diocese by facilitating opportunities for people in both diocese to grow to know each other, learn from each other and encourage each other in worship, witness and mission.
The Task Group has a number of objectives:
Peru Mission Team 2010
- To encourage individuals, parishes and other organisations to become involved in the link in a variety of ways;
- To provide a focal point for communication at diocesan level with our partners in Peru;
- To provide resources and support for parishes, institutions and individuals developing links;
- To exchange prayer requests at diocesan and link level and to encourage prayer for Peru throughout the diocese;
- To co-ordinate visits to Peru, providing information and guidance about the link, useful contacts and appropriate organisation of the programme, and opportunities for debriefing, as well as helping people to understand and use their experiences;
- To suggest ways in which individuals and parishes may get involved with Peru, for example by supporting mission partners in Peru through the mission agencies, and to respond to specific requests for resources and guidance;
- To provide opportunities to exchange experiences of the link partnership;
- To liaise with SAMS and USPG representatives to promote Peru in the context of the diversity of the whole Anglican Communion.
